Leah graduated from the University of Sydney in 1999. Following graduation, she worked in a number of veterinary practices in Australia and the UK before commencing a residency in anaesthesia and critical care at the University of Liverpool in 2003. In 2008, she became a Diplomat of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She established Veterinary Anaesthesia Specialists in 2015, a private anaesthesia consultancy company offering case management, consultation, and education.
